One of my classes in the first semester during BSSM 2nd year had this interesting name, James Heth is the revival pastor that minister the class. The goal was to made us look forward what we really came to do in BSSM and if we already get it, as we are at second year. I will be honest with you, in the beginning of this class I was super bored and tough that I choose the wrong one for me… WRONG!
If God talk to you more than one time about something, is because you didn’t listened or didn’t had actions in that subject yet.
First, I was bored because God has already talked about that subject with me last year, when I was doing the class called “Destiny finder”. Second, because as the class walked through it became really interesting and started to give me an open view of lots of things. The last class was of course the best, and that’s why I’m here to open my process with you. The point that made it very entertaining to me was the simple (and deep) question: What is success for you?
God had already talked to me and because He is definitely good He brought up that again (can you hear the bells?!).
Here, lots of people wants to become a revival group pastor. Because it is cool, it is like a good mood to stay living in this environment, and of course, this is a place where your dreams starts to be on fire again, so even being developed to go and change the world, you wants to stay here just abiding with the amazing community is here, you wants to serve them and stay very close to Bill and Kris (even if this close means just see them in class and during services).
I though one day “wow, will be amazing to have this job and a mentor like Gabe Venezuela, Hayley Braun, Mark Brooks, Leslie Crandall. Oh my, it means to live an apostolic revivalist dream. If you don’t know them, I understand, so let me explain to you, those guys are not afraid of what is ugly inside of you and they are super intentional to love people taking care of them and just walk with you full of truth, in other words, they are the kind of boss you are dreaming, and oh they also carry Jesus very well. Which Christian don’t want to serve someone that you can learn all the time and that is also interested in you as a person?
This is the success our minds here define immediately, because we are in this super amazing revivalist environment. But, it is success?
Success is be exact where God called you to be and live your dreams!
My dear Papa God! Jesus Christ! Holy Ghost! Today, I was in class with an overdose of love and power, I asked God the simple question that give title to this writing, and the conversation comes:
– Amanda, why you came here?
– Well, because you called me. You gave me a direction, make me dream and here I’m, living our dream.
– Yes, that’s true. But, why you accepted to come here?
– I was deeply hungry for more of you and I asked you to change my life, to bring me deep and to reveal me your word and to let me live inside of your arms forever. I didn’t want to live just for live, I need to know why do you created me and who you really are.
– Answer very well. Now you can see if you get what you came for!
This is GOD: He change lives.
So, working in my definition of success I found that for me it means to be exact in the place God asked me to be and live intentional with Him. No one could ever satisfies me, until I let He fulfill His place in my life. It means that doesn’t matter where I’m or what I’m doing, but who I’m with and if I’m connected with Him.
I just recognize that I’m living some huge dreams God gave me since I started to walk with Him. I’m living a successful life, where I don’t have a job, I don’t have an income and I never know what will really happen or how I will pay my bills. I don’t have the money to go to an expensive store and buy expensive things, but nothing made me more complete than just be as close as never to God.
I didn’t came to BSSM because I will be in the worship team, even trying to be there. I didn’t came to BSSM to be none by someone, to get a position or a job. I didn’t came to this place to nothing less than Jesus, to get to know him effectively.
I came hungry, in love and full of dreams and promises. I still hungry, but now I feel consumed. I still in love, but now I feel overflowing and I still dreaming and with lots of promises, but now I’m living some of them.
He revealed me His face, His heart, some secrets and He keep doing it every day.
Yes, I’m getting what I came for. I know that always have more, that’s why I wants to stay here. But, I definitely am living what I came for and even more of what I expected.
Amanda, you made us stay here reading all of this, but, what can this bring something for me?
I want to share this with you to make you think in your dreams and promises of God, in the place you are right now. Do you feel down? Tired out? Hopeless?
Do you think that you are living days that never end?
I don’t know where you are now, but I want to point where you can go. You can go to find what you came for and it starts remembering “Why did you came?” or “Where you need to go”.
Honestly, I don’t have any idea of how to finish this, because I can write hours about this delicious food I’m eating this last months. So, I will just let this door open and if you need help, e-mail me about it.
However, don’t let any dream die because you forget why or what, or because you are just receiving the same promises/words for years and can’t see nothing happening. Step in! Step in even if it seems to be painful, it is not so painful as don’t step in!
You can find what you came for, but it always depend on you!
